Burns LIT

Burns LIT collaboration effort currently is at a slow building phase of the LIT. In Harney County, partners and groups have continuously worked together in various other strong collaborations across the landscape with various other work. These collaborations have already developed the group into strong working relationships. Such examples of the large existing collaboratives are the Harney County Wildfire Collaborative with High Desert Partnership. Members of the LIT agreed it would be important to focus initial meetings around shared learning and partner updates establish a collective understanding and vision to move the collaborative forward.

Currently since revamping the Burn LIT spring of 2022, beginning meetings objective have begun to developing map products in order to determine primary focus areas. Developing these maps, the LIT group can use for developing a process for plan creation and identifying highly needed priority areas. These plans can identify goals and objectives for future cross-boundary implementation in potential new or changed action areas. It is also important to help determine where programs such as the CCAA can help focus areas of private landowners along with government land agencies to maximize landscape management.
