Lakeview LIT
The Lakeview LIT is to provide a collective collaboration effort for habitat and sage grouse population management as per the Sage Grouse Action Plan. Using Identification and implementation of landscape-level action will help maintain and enhance sage brush steppe rangelands.
Currently Lakeview LIT has started to meet again since 2012 with the beginning objective to developing map products. These maps include variety of item from map land management projects to specific habitat types. These maps will be used to:
Provide story map to assist in funding for project implementation
Determine priority future implementation efforts in primary areas
Keep everyone updated to actions and treatments of various partners
Develop or modify priorities to land management agencies and local landowners
Having the ability to focus on declining populations in Lake County
Using these maps, the LIT group can use for developing a process for plan creation. Action areas that currently were developed, were created prior to reestablishing the LIT group in 2022. These plans can identify goals and objectives for future cross-boundary implementation in potential new or changed action areas. Using technical resources as well as local knowledge, plans can easily determine a list of what are the primary local threats to sage-grouse in each priority area.
