Lakeview
Local Implementation Team
Now Hiring a LIT Coordinator!
The Lakeview LIT provides a forum for collaboration among partners who work in the sage steppe rangelands within the Lakeview BLM district. The group consists of land managers, ranchers, conservation organizations, and biologists. The meetings are open to all who care about the health of this complex system.
The next full-group meeting of the Tri-Corner Community Collaborative, a geographically-specific sub-group of the Lakeview LIT, will be February 10, 1-4 pm at Memorial Hall in Lakeview.—-canceled due to winter weather. Stay tuned for an updated meeting time.
The Lakeview LIT was initiated in 2012 by ODFW. Participation and interest have grown since identifying the Tri-Corner area between Hart and Sheldon Wildlife refuges as a focal area while maintaining work and seeking funding across the county.
In 2023 the collaborative secured USFWS Bipartisan Infrastructure Law funds to cut juniper trees in Guano Valley on a cross-boundary project that included private and Department of State lands properties. These properties are enrolled in the Sage-grouse Candidate Conservation Program and the restoration addressed core habitat.
